Single cohabiting benefits / tax

    Has anyone ever challenged the tax / benefit thing where if you are living with your partner but unmarried you are taxed as a single person, but if you are on benefits you are judged as being part of a couple?

    A while back I remember hearing something about some legal professional saying that this could be unconstitutional or something?
