Digital TV/Radio from Cairn Hill

Just fooling around with a cheap DTT receiver I bought when I noticed that Cairn Hill is transmitting Today FM on DVB-T radio! Really surprised by that. Does anyone know what other stations are available? Or can anyone recommend some good, preferably open source, software for searching?

Any normal even MPEG2 receiver will find all the radio channels.

Sorry watty, I don't follow your meaning? I am looking for software that can scan the frequency ranges for other channels. At the moment I am using ProgDVB but it is not very good (some channels are preset, scan doesn't work). The software that came with the dongle cannot pick up radio stations.

Can you tell me on what channel you are receiving that DTT mux? Cairn Hill has been allocated Ch 41, 44, 47 and 51.

And how far are you away from Cairn Hill, and is the signal strength good?

To answer your question: the existing RTE mux that is trialling at some sites at the moment has the 5 national FM broadcasters on it and nothing more. It will more than likely be the same on Cairn Hill or one or two of those 5.

Not sure, ProgDVB is very unstable for me. All I know is it is the pre-programmed Ireland > Today FM channel and it has a bit rate of 32k/s.

Athlone, signal seems good but no accurate way of measuring at the moment.

I'd be happy to report back if I could find a good site survey tool.

Only 4 FM broadcasters (RTE1/2FM/Lyric/RnaG) isn't it from the RTE Mux? That's all that is available from CC.

It occurs to me that even though the channel was labelled as Today FM, it could have been any channel. Seems to be gone today :(
