Morocco - cheap?

Basically, I may be able to swing a junket for a week for myself and the other half later this month. Flights and accom would be paid for (staying in Agadir). What I want to know is how much I should budget for in meals and other expenses - i.e. going out. I plan to take a few day trips, but I can calculate the cost of these myself.

    Any tips welcome.

stayed in tangier a few weeks back, food was very cheap i thought, about 60% of what we pay here. many places had steak and chips and a soft drink on the menu for 55 Dirham (about 5 euro)

Agadir is a much more tourist based town so i guess food will be more expensive there but once outside the main tourist spots expect to pay much less than what you do here

My parents are in Agadir at the moment. Seem to like it. I will find out details when they return and post in the thread again.

Was in Agadir in Jan 07 and found it cheap enough.. granted it was off season and fairly quiet but the nice restaurants were about €30 for a 3 course meal per person.. if ya wanna go cheap n cheerful, that cud be as low as €10 for a 3 course meal per person..

Head to Marrakesh and Fez are a lot lot cheaper and there are lots of small hotels etc which arent big enough to pop up on the big tour operators radar so they can be got for next to nothing. Was told prices of approx €20 per person per night sharing max for accommodation in a range of places.. Granted they dont have swimming pools etc, just central, clean and basic but do the job nicely.

What other people have said sounds spot on to me. Morocco in general is very very cheap, but Agadir is a tourist resort. A nice meal in a nice restaurant is still cheaper than home. I'd say significantly cheaper than home. But for really good prices you could go into the centre of Agadir and get a meal here - this would be a much more basic kind of meal and would be very cheap. It's a while since I've been there, but I think there's one street in the centre of Agadir that has more expensive touristy restaurants, but if you can find other restaurants they will probably be cheap.
