Normally we do threads like this of our own stuff but this picture left such an impression on me I just had to start this thread. :)

Hopefully Lukaty doesn't mind me using his pic, if he does I'll take it down, he's a contact and should be ok with it.

I've tried to photograph the "harp lady" a few times and to no avail but this picture is brilliant, her expression in her eyes, the colour of her eyes, the angle of the pic...need I go on?

I meant recent pics, I do agree that Valentia is head and shoulders above 99% of people here with his photography skills.
In fact I was quite honoured he added me on pixie a couple of days ago. :o

As this thread is suitable for users to post other person(s) work which are available online, you must follow some ground rules (similar to the way AnimalRights has constructed his post).

    The ground rules for posting to this thread are;

You must fully credit the owner of the image that you are posting
You must link back to the original source of the image online
Please state why you like the image that you are posting

Do NOT copy anyone's image any upload it to your pix.ie or flickr account and don't upload any image not your own as an attachment to this thread.
Do NOT scan an image from a book for upload to pix.ie, flickr, or an attachment to this thread.

If you cannot tell who the owner of the image is then please do not post the image.

Posting the image inline is allowed subject to the above guidance.

If you need to check out how to post images inline then check the FAQ's in the stickies.

    Enjoy.

Wow - I just checked out some of his photos on Flickr - excellent stuff. Love the puffin shots

His Puffin shots are outstanding, he has a pixie account too and they are superb.
I never get fed up looking at Swan or Puffin photograpgs tbh.

His last Flickr pic went up Jan 2, 2009. That is recent. The 2007 is part of his Flickr name. :)

Jazus thanks folks. I don't know where to look :o

The 2007 referred to above is just one set on Flickr. It is of shots taken on Valentia in 2007. My Flicker name is now Danny O'Brien. As some of you will know I have been out of action for over a year with a serious illness so my photography has been fairly limited. It's only in the last week or so that I have felt anyway back to normal and I hope my productivity improves in tandem with my health.

As far as photography goes I think I have a long way to go. I'd like to diversify and Fajitas stuff, for example, spurs me on to be a bit braver.

There are some incredibly talented people here. I find it really interesting to see how many people have progressed into fine photographers over the last few years. Some who joined having never taken pictures before.
