    - am not computer savvy but following the instructions on the Nintendo site I need help here :-

"If your connection appears as a closed padlock, as shown below on the connections labelled as 'Internet 3' and Internet 4', then the Access Point requires a security code or passphrase. The security code or passphrase can usually be found on the security tab of your wireless router settings. Click here for more information on Wii security settings"

    - have no idea where to get this code - am on Eircom Broadband !!!!!

Really simple English needed here folks please..................

I'm less than a whizz myself but got it to work in a few mins :)

Have you an Eircom logo on your desktop or in your Programs on your PC?

In here you'll find a WEP key or password in Security Settings. When your Wii searches for available networks, click your one from the list and it will ask for the WEP key (password). Entering this will unlock the connection and you wont have to do it again.

It's to stop your next door neighbour using your connection for their Wii too ;)

Sorry, it's called "Encription Key". When you click Eircom Broadband which should be an orange logo on your desktop, you go into "Wirelss" on the left hand side of the screen and it will show you the key.

I'm also trying to connect my wii with my broadband, I'm with Imagine. Anyone any idea where to get this number from? I've tried mailing them but as usual they're worse than useless!

Sometimes the code is on a little sticker (maybe pink) stuck on the underside of your router.
If not usually fairly obvious on sticker on the manual that came with the router.
Hope it helps. Remember well this time last year racking my brain trying to remember a password I thought I must have entered and had forgotten only to discover it wasn't down to my brain but was information that came with the router.
