    Hi All,

Myself and my Fiance are going on honeymoon in August to America, flying into LA and travelling to Vegas and then onto San Fran, back to LA and flying back to Dublin. I have looked at aer lingus and are very expensive @€;1800.

I then went on to Expedia and got a price of €1200.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever had an experience travelling with Expedia and what are they like?

Also anyone else to try for a cheaper price?

    Cheers,

    Moggie

I just booked flights for myself and my wife on expedia.co.uk

Cork-Heathrow-San Fran (with virgin) return in September for less than 750 sterling.
I've used them plenty of times, never had any problems.
(you need to click thru on the prices, sometimes they drop on expedia)

Usually book all my hotels through Expedia, never had a problem. They are pretty good price-wise. Be sure to check out how much the hotels are to book direct too though.

Can you book flights with Expedia though? In the past you had to have a visa card registered to an address in the States or UK to book flights.

Had no problems recently booking with an Irish reg'd visa card anyway.

Think it was related to them not being bonded as a travel agent in Ireland,
looked to be resolved now anyway.

Hi, I've my flights to Orlando for August through Expedia, they were about €500 cheaper than booking direct through the ailine (British Airways) they took my Irish cridit card no problem and there was no hidden charges. I've been able to look at my flight on the British Airways website, so there doesn't seem to be anything fishy. I'd say go for it!

P.s. We did a similar trip last August and it was fabulous, but be careful in Vegas, it is mega hot at that time of year. You could get burned or sunstroke very quickly.

Also, if you haven't booked your hotels yet, try www.fatwallet.com or www.smartervegas.com for your Vegas hotel, they use discount codes that can save you a fortune. Also hotels in Vegas tend to release discount codes 2-3 months in advance, so it might be worthwhile to wait before booking. It is a quiet time in Vegas due to the heat, so you should get a good deal.
