Decent Hotel to stay in london

Hey Lads,

It's my other half's birthday and i'm going to take her over to london on the weekend of the 1st of march , I was just looking for somewhere very nice to stay. Ideally easy to access WHL(Just in case the unthinkable happens)!

Have a look at The St Giles, Iv stayed there a couple of times. Its fairly reasonable pricewise, and its very central for going out etc, 4/5 min walk to Leicester Square.

away to sunderland that week.. i had the same thin in mind:mad:

im doing something similar. valentine special to the english capital!! w eare such gentle men. try this hotel. not far from seven sisters so about 10 min walk to WHL

Not stayed there myself, but opposite Finsbury Park would not be a place I'd be staying on a romantic weekend...:p

Try a bit further towards Islington, could do worse than the Jurys Inn there.

If it were me and I was trying to impress a lass, I'd be more inclined to central London, around Covent Garden tbh.

Fairly run down around the station area. Ethnically diverse, you might have heard of Finsbury Park mosque? Quite a few bars near the station as well, but you need to keep your mouth shut about being a Yid. Islington is close, which is quite cosmopolitan, so plenty of eating options nearby.

Not sure about hotels in the area, the pics look nice but I've been in some sh1tholes around that neck of the woods I have to say.

Should add, I've never had any problems up there but then I'm usually loaded to the gills on Bulmers so wouldn't feel a slap if I got one...

What I was thinking. Tottenham isn't the most romantic area. You can always hop on the tube.

Try http://www.imperialhotels.co.uk Usually stay in the Tavistock or the Royal National. The others are more upmarket but all located right next to Russell Square tube and bout 12/15 minutes walk from Oxford Street.

ps don't take her to the county hotel

As Reckless says, steer well clear of the Finsbury Park hotels.

Most of them are used as halfway houses for asylum seekers or by hookers for 1 hour tricks. Not a place I'd want to take my loved one to.

Personally I'd look at hotels in central London (cost a few quid more) but only a short journey on the tube.
