Cant Party invite on COD4 or WaW (PS3)

Myself and a friend are unable to invite each other to join a party. We get messages like unable to connect to host. We can however successfully invite each other to join games already started.
anyone any ideas?
We're on the PS3.

Another friend who sometimes plays can invite us both to join his party without any problems.

I just got a PS3 for Christmas but I don't have CoD4 or WW for it... Furthermore, I'm useless with networks and port forwarding and stuff like that so I couldn't help I'm afraid...

You using Wifi or Ethernet?

I have the same problem at home with eircom broadband trying to party invite with a buddy who also has eircom but in my house in cork I have ntl 20mg broadband and I have no problem party inviting him and he on his eircom can party invite me easily aswell when im here but like i said if i go back home to the eircom we cant, thats just my two cents worth though. Best of luck with it.

yes because playing cod4 while aiming and moving with two little twiddlesticks is living.

fps games are dire on console

I have CoD4 on the PC. The only platform it should be allowed on IMO!

Ive had this problem as well on COD4 and 5
Can invite friends but cant party even though I have 3mb band which I think should be enough. Is really annoying!

Fully disagree with you! I think every single thread about FPS games on consoles SHOULD turn into a PC > Console debate because "we're considerably superior than you"!

That said, I got the PS3 for Xmas and I'm loving it! Got MGS4, Motorstorm, Drake, Valkyria Chronicles, LBP, etc. All these games should be played on the console!

Hi all, OP here again.

not going to get into the PC debate as it may be better but I choose the PS3 so i'm not hidden upstairs in the spare room on a hard chair witn a 19" monitor. I enjoy the games in an armchair using the 42" full HD and very content with that.:)

Back to the point, we both have eircom broadband and wireless connections so could be a link there. it is very annoying as we can only invite to games and have to be quick before game fills up otherwise we need to quit and start again. especially at the moment with so many connection problems after game we're lucky to get a run of 3 or 4 games.

As for the comment "you haven't lived until you played COD 4 & WaW", you have to admit they do take some beating, I'm well impressed with them both.

Forgot to throw in my 2c.......

OP....there are certain friends in my friends list to whom i cant connect at all if either one of us is the host. If a 3rd party is hosting, then there's no problems but if i invite them or they invite me (even to a private chat, party chat etc.) then we can't connect.

Not sure how to solve the issue, cos usually there are enough of us around that we can get someone else to start the party for it not to be an issue.

type 'nat 1 ps3 eircom' into youtube and theres one with 'keep it carlow'on the end of it. easy to do and gives nat1. you'll be able to host then.

If u are using ps3 your i know whats wrong.
U prob have the wrong nat type, and cod will not let u host partys bcoz of that, im guessing your eircom?
They are bastards lol

Go to youtube, you need to get a tutorial on how to get nat type 1.
Then you can host!.

Success!!!

Followed the instructions on the youtube video and now have the Nat1 setting and was able to host last night. Alot of hassle will be avoided now.

I understand the video and all, but no combination of usernames and passwords seems to work for the pppoe - any help?
