Actually, if you have a valid prescription (and it's prescription meds you're ordering) then it may not be illegal. Customs do intercept and inspect prescription meds being shipped into the country, and ask for proof of a valid prescription.

This was covered a while ago by some newspaper journalist, who wanted to see what could be ordered online, after receiving all sorts of spam on this topic. Customs intercepted the order and confiscated it, as he had no valid prescription. He also had to explain why he was doing this, as ordering prescription meds, without the prescription, is illegal.
