HI, The two used in the practice i work in are Sage Accounts Production and TAS Books (more a book keeping software). Others of that nature are big red book and thesaurus.

Along the lines of payroll we use Infopay.

    Hope that helps a bit.

TAS, SAGE are for small companies

oracle financials, JD edwards, SAP are used in larger companies. they are called ERP systems as the ledger is only one module - they have seperate modules for accounts payable, receiveable, banking etc.

Is this for every industry or just accountancy practices?

In the practice im in, we use:

    Sage Accounts Production
    Big Red Book
    Tax pack
    Relate Company Secretary
    Taxpack
    ROS online
    ROS offline

Relate have also developed there own accounts production software which is in direct competition with Sage Accounts Production. Bear in mind that it was the people behind relate that developed Apex which was then sold to Sage and rebraned as Sage accounts production. I havent used the relate accounts production but I would hazard a guess that alot of practices will be changing over considering that Sage have not really developed accounts production since they bought it from Apex back in the early 2000's.
