What's your budget roughly? And when you say gang do you mean a really big group/stags/hens?

We would like nice accomodation that is not at the top end, price wise.
Gang: 10 middle aged women for a weekend break away.
    Thx

    Hi,

If you are looking to stay in an apartment on a budget, i recommend Honey Apartments. These are owned by a really really nice polish couple Marcin & Magdelana that live in the penthouse above. They have three apartments and three guest rooms.

You could rent two apartments for approx. €12 each per night but prices are negotiable especially for a large group! The apartments are spotless and in a nice location in the old jewish quarter about 10 minutes walk from the main square. You are supplied with your own key's to the building and the apartment so you can go to/from as you please day & night. The couple are very nice people, and will even pick you up or drop you to the airport for a small fee.

If you would prefere a hotel, the Hotel Ascot is really nice and only about 5 minutes walk to the main square. Rooms are modern and staff are really nice. They offer nice sized triple rooms which would be ideal for your group size.

Another nice hotel is the Qubus Hotel. Nice modern hotel overlooking a hugh river just outside the city centre, about 20 minutes walk, but taxi's are so cheap. The only thing about this hotel is they only offer double rooms so you would have to book 5.

Shop around online for these hotels for a better deal than booking direct, they are both available through all major hotel agents. You could get a room in the Qubus @ €65 per night, the ascot for €75 double room; €100 triple room.

That's all i can think of right now that i've stayed in that isn't too la de da or expensive. Take the apartments into consideration even though i've stayed in quite a few nice hotel's in Krakow i would have no hesitation in staying there again, perhaps one of my favourite stays!! Krakow is a fantastic city and you will have a great time, if you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Yeah two favourites of mine are Leonardo Restaurant and Pepe Rosso. Both are Italian and really nice especially Leonardo, it's a top class restaurant and while the locals consider it expensive it's quite cheap. Three course meal with wine for three people - €100. The food and service is amazing. Formal(ish) but with a fairly relaxed atmosphere. Pepe Rosso is only around the corner from the apartments i mentioned to you while Leonardo is off the main square.

I recommend you also try the 'Surf & Turf" buffet at the Radisson SAS hotel Krakow just a few minute's walk from the main square, it's a real little unknown gem! Huge open food buffet consisting of many starters, sides and salads. Then you have a hugh varied selection of fresh seafood on ice and a cabinet of fresh meats. You point out what you would like to the chef behind in the open kitchen and he will cook it right on front of you fresh the way you like it and bring it to your table. Monkfish, fillet steaks you name it. Order as much as you like and soft drinks & house wine is also included. All for............€24 per person in a five star hotel! ;) This is available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening.

It's very cheap to eat and drink in Krakow. Think restaurant Leonardo it's a top class restaurant and some of their more expensive mains only cost €17 which for the equivalent of food standard and service you would pay €50+
