I'd say if you looked around you'd find them even cheaper elsewhere...

There is not really much paperwork to be done tbh. I'd be interested to know if you could buy it off them cash and get an even better landed price.

They're not the only ones at it. A new one popped up since the start of the year: Credit Crunch Cars, out in D12 where Jameson Motors used to be. There's another one out near Lusk somewhere as well, can't think of the name of it just now. The gig is they have thousands of cars 'in stock', i.e: on their site, and if you wanna buy they import from the UK and VRT, etc. Not as cheap as a DIY job but still cheaper than regular Indy Dealers. I reckon there's gonna be a lot of angry Irish dealers out there before long.

Hursts are a massive dealership with numerous franchises as well as a big used car operation. They are as reputable as any car dealership can be, i.e. not very. But as good as you'll get.

Alot of prestigious marques are sold into the Republic through them as there is no franchise down South.

Charles Hurst are one of the most reputable dealers in NI - used to work for a finance company and dealt with them quite a bit. They could teach ROI dealers a thing or two.

If you're going to buy a car off them anyway for the amount of paper work you have to do it'd be as easy to VRT it yourself, especially if they're charging for it, unless you don't want the hassle.

What I find funny about this is the SIMI having a bitch fest about how all imports are dodgy, crashed write off's and we shouldn't be buying them yet you have a dealer advertising the service on Irish radio.

My business partner took delivery this morning of an Audi Q7 (2009) from Dreamcars.ie thus saving €13,500 from Irish list price. I buy my cars from them and find them very reputable Dealer . These guys don't hold stock and get cars to order. And they are irish too!!

    Fupping hell
I know that they sell everything from Micraps to Astons but IMO you would want your head examined going there!

Hi Redroof, you are obviously very very happy with this company. Registered on Boards.ie two days ago, total of 9 posts, 6 of which are recommending that people buy their cars from this company ...

First it was you that bought a few cars with tehm now its your friend.

So you work for dreamcars and like to lie about their services. That tells me two things.
    1. Dreamcars are not to be trusted
    2. Dreamcars are a cheap operation who won't pay to advertise.
    Steer clear.

I had a look at their site.
They aren't too cheap - not cheap at all infact.
    Like 37.5k for a 2008 A4........shure you'd have a 2008 A6 for that?

I just showed you how that company is way overpriced so why are you reccomending them? You posted 5 times about them in a 2 days.

I have found Isacc Agnew in Belfast very professional. Bought 2 cars there in recent years, much more helpful than any ROI dealer ( even BMW/ Audi/ etc).
Servicing also appears very competent and also saves some $$. As it happens I can be in Belfast for work, so it's easy enough to drop a car in for service.

Paperwork to import is easy: just remember, > 6 months old & > 6,000 KM

Agnew's BMW operation in Belfast, Bavarian Motors, was recently named the best BMW dealer in the world by BMW themselves. Not sure what the criteria was though.

Maybe catering, they do some lovely free pastries. Getting my car worked on there was always a culinary delight.

On this radio ad it also states that they accept trade in's. Does anybody know how this would work, trading in a southern reg car to a northern dealer?

I contacted them via the form on there website on wednesday morning, I recieved an email an hour later saying that I'd be contacted within 2 hours..2 days later I've heard nothing, maybe there sales people are just really really busy?

I would not go up north to charleshurst. If you have a problem they will not stand by the car they sold you. My gearbox started making a really bad grinding noise they wont cover it on there warranty.

I'm sure we'll all take heed of that, given it is your (barely literate) first post.

Charles Hurst are very reputable (my family always buy cars from them) could be beaten on price if you scout around but have good customer service. They fixed an engine problem on my dads A4 and my dad paid them, they then argued with Audi for 2 months on his behalf (unrequested) that the fault with his A4 was covered under warrenty and sent a cheque out to him in the post! not many places would do that.

I have bought a car from charleshurst, no need to bring it back for anything so cant comment there, good experience tho (this was a few years ago so had to do the paperwork meself:( not much to it IMO) Would buy there again.

Sorry if i upset you that was my experience.
You may be alright with manufacturers warranty if you buy a new car. Their warranty on second hand car was very poor for me. They would only fix my car if it was catastrophic failure that is what they said to me. As i found out the hard way. I am never going back to them again.
