    Hey guys,

Just a quick question. I left my last job nearly 2 months ago and still havent received my p45. Is this normal??? I have contacted my old boss and he said he will chase it up in head office.......I dont actually need it as I am not working at the moment but still......

Whats the normal period of time???

well it depends id say if you havent recieved it in 2 months you may have to keep chasing them up on it...when i left one of my last jobs there claimed they sent it on to me..but never did i kept asking them to send it on but nothing..i decided to go down there one day and it was just sitting in a bunch of other stuff in their office..i think to be honest it depends on how lazy the people in the office are!! mind you it was about 6 - 8 months since i worked there when i had gone down there to get it!!

I got mine within a couple of weeks of leaving my last job.

Your P45 is only valid until Dec 31th when a P60 would have to generated by your old employer.

If you have not received your P60 yet the Tax office should have a copy that you can get a copy of to give your new employer.
