Hi. just wondering what happens if you have 2 ram slots and the tech spec of the laptop says 1gb max in each slot , what happens if for example you put a 2gb ram into each slot. will it only use 2gb or will it use 4gb.

It means that it can only address 2Gb of Ram.
It will probably run with 4 but only ever use 2.
