RUV Sjónvarpið Iceland

    Sjónvarpið, the RUV TV channel from Iceland is currently FTA on Thor 1W. It's a bit of a bizarre channel. I watched the tail end of a comedy show on it last night which featured typically baffling scandinavian humour. Out of hours (yes, they do close down) they show the PM5564 widescreen testcard in all its glory...:D

    You can even get FTV Swiss or Dutch TV in Ireland with too much bother. UK FTV is effectively dead. Advantage of being big. x20 us.

    Does this mean you can somehow get the Swiss state broadcasters, like SRG (German) & TSR (French) here?

    I thought you needed a special card.

    FTV = Special card. once off or annual charge
    FTA = no card.
    PayTV = card and higher monthly charge.
