    Hi everyone
The Sony Bravia KDL-32W4000 has a Freeview function and
I did post about our problem before, we DO have a NTL box and paying for it, I was just wondering how we can use the Digital DV3 function for NTL thats installed in the TV and get maybe even get rid of the NTL box.
Theres is a CAM slot but I dont know where to get the right card for it.
    Any help is appreciated

    Thanks

Using anything other than a UPC/NTL box to receive their service is against the terms and conditions of the service... Its discussion is not allowed on boards!!

EDIT: Just saw your other thread on all of this and Watty answered it all perfectly well back then.

It would be very nice if UPC/NTL could provide a solution to this as the quality of signal is far better without using their box provided, it is possible to view about 15 stations digitally once you plug your UPC/NTL analogue cable and the quality of picture is excellent and the EPG works flawlessly, unlike on the box where it does not work properly. I believe Setanta can provide a card and CAM holder so their signal can be decoded, why not UPC/NTL?

I am quite sure Bonn is not suggesting anything illegal, but is looking for a legitimate solution to his query so I don't understand why people are saying we can't discuss this. As more and more people get these types of TV's the question will crop up more frequently. And before anyone thinks differently I am a UPC/NTL and Sky digital subscriber, all above board.

No one is suggesting that the op is going to do anything illegal with the tuner in his tv.... either way though using a non-UPC supplied box on their network is not allowed. They will tell you that if you ring them... There is no way they will allow people to connect all these different TVs to their network as they have no way of testing all makes to ensure they work... Far easier for them just to say no!!

Grand well that's two things clarified, firstly, we are not breaking any rules by discussing this topic, I'm pretty sure of that as it is very frustrating for anyone asking a legitimate question to be told they can't ask it as it may be breaking the rules in that poster's opinion and secondly, it is no wonder they are losing customers hand over fist if their attitude is to say no rather than investigating the problem in the first instance. As I said, Setanta provide a cam and card and they went to the trouble of making sure it would work with all makes of tvs without jeopardising their service.

Setanta do but only for DTT in the UK. They do not provide anything for cable. UPC do provide you with a CAM in the STB they provide.

It is against their terms and conditions to use anything else so that is why discussion of it is not allowed here

There is no significant difference at all in non-NTL/UPC digital decoders vs official ones.
