want to replace my blue 105's and campag rims with something a little newer about 15 years old used to live across the road froam a bikeshop so didnt have these problems.
mavic a119 rims or a319's ? i'm no lightweight (100+kg) btw so need to be tough (why i'm steering away from askiums much as i like the look of them)

I'm currently awaiting delivery of a set of wheels from Parker International -they'll do you a custom build with anything they stock, and prices are reasonable. For example Open Pro rear on Ultegra hub for 100quid, and matching front for 80 or so -pretty great value!

As for the rims, the Mavic Open Pro are the reference set, though the CXP33 have followers. The difference is that the CXP33 are a deeper profile, so slightly better aerodynamically, but heavier. Also they are sometimes recommended for heavier riders, but the open pro's will be grand for you!

Nothing wrong with Aksiums - I've carried heavy loads on the bike with them on and they still run true.
