Im looking for a secondary weapon for a G-spec possibly a mp5 or mp7. It would also be used on its own for cqb .Anyone have any other advice or opinions. It would be greatly appreciated?

I have a Galaxy MP5PDW which I would recommend as a great secondary for a sniper. Maybe look at the MP5K as well as an option. Great RoF and reliable.

if its not loadout dependant a p90 would seem the way to go

MP5k PDW or KWA/KSC Glock 18c with extended mags.

If you want something smaller an AEP isn't a bad idea and won't be affected by bad weather e.g. cyma 030.

I got the cm.030 today actually as a part trade and I wasn't expecting much but I'm seriously impressed. With the extended mag it's a beast for close range shooting. It also only costs about 50-60 euro brand new. ACM do some decent AEP's as well like the M92F and USP for around the same price and performance (190-220fps)

I heard the well scorpion is also very good, comes with a drum mag aswell

If it's anything like the TM it should be great. The drum mag holds 350 so your good to go. Also the JG scorpion is out although it comes with a 90 round mgazine.

I'm having the same trouble, I can't decided what to buy for my secondary. I was thinking of a Mac 11.

The drum is supposedly a pile of junk. The people I've talked to all said get the regular mags.

And wouldn't the drum not be a little bulky for a secondary? Or is it a small drum? As I've been thinking of either buying an m11 or a scorpion.

It would be very heavy for a secondary and would also get in the way alot. IMHO!

I see your point the g36c is small in comparacin to the k i guess its down to personal choice like you said :)

The well skorpion is very nice, the 50 round mid caps it comes with are great.

The drum is a wind up pile of piss, why bother, there is no real one, its just a hi-cap.

Holstering it is awkward though, you will need to use a pouch like a medic pouch or some similar thing, also its around 270 fps so range is limited.

The mp7 is the same gun in a more convenient shape.

The mp5k and pdw are the best performers in that size(full size gearbox), the p90 a notch above that, but is a bit bigger.

To be honest your right Dex. MP5/P90/etc. aren't needed as if they are your not really playing the sniper role.
I have a Glock 17 and its grand, but I would also like to have something like a Mac 11 or Scorpion that you could strap to your webbing with a quick release so that you can lay down some rapid fire and make your enemies run for cover while you high tail it out of there.

Me thinks I shouldn't have sold my CYMA G18c.

    Pistol.
Seriously, if you're sniping you'll want to be moving light and free. Your rifle plus a spare mag or two and a pistol plus a spare should be enough. MP5/P90/Mac11 etc all need to be slung and that's going to p*** you off when you're trying to crawl/slip through bushes, trees, tall grass etc when it's flopping around and catching on everything.
MP7's have holsters available for them but, to be honest, they're huge and that's a big enough weight to have sitting on your leg for the sake of 20 rounds in the mag (unless you use the long midcap 40rounders which will, again, catch on things, or the high caps which will give you away as a sniper). The Mac10/11 both have the exact same problem. All of the above also have awkward magazines for carrying spares of (MP5 being the least troublesome).

A good pistol is the perfect secondary really. If you must have auto, you can get a Glock 18c or M93r either in gas or electric form, or a Glock 23 or USPc in gas form. For a silent pistol, the TM Mk.23 or the Maruzen Walther P99, both NBB's and both whisper quiet (the Mk.23 is a big yoke which suits some people, the P99 is closer to "regular size"). Or you can go for old reliables like the Glock17, M92, USP etc.
Whichever one takes your fancy, you'll find it's a lot easier to climb a tree/slide into a hole when you're not lugging an extra rifle on your back or around your chest or wherever it happens to have migrated to on its sling.

Yeah I understand people may still want auto fire in a pinch, but the likes of the Glock18/23, M93 etc will do the same in a much tidier package. I've seen people with holstered Mac11's before and, while it is a decent performer, you have to keep your mag out of it because it sticks out too far when holstered, which kind of defeats the purpose of your emergency backup if you have to load it before firing.

This is very true but I have a confession to make...I love the Mac 11. So I have to decide do I go with whats practical or what my heart and trigger finger wants. :D:D:D

The MAC 11 is pain to carry though, i've used one in the past and hated carrying it.
When it comes to sniping, theres no better or more practical secondary than a pistol, be it a glock, 1911 or whatever., its light, small and hardly ever going to be used, why carry something cumbersome?

your never going to find something that can give you equal fire power to those hunting you without sacrificing your ability to move, climb and be quiet so that kinda makes carrying an AEG a bit pointless.,
