Is there accually anyway to make money off this?
One of my friends told me you can make money selling irish products you cant get in other countries for homesick irish people or people living in far away countries with no access to it,
eg milkados/barrys tea/taytos and other irish things you might miss about ireland.

With the cost of buying something then paying to put it up on a site like ebay then when someone buys it paypal takes a small commision is there anyway to make some money of this or it pointless?

Maybe there are some restrictions, but there is loads of food on sale on ebay, and alcohol, and weapons.

I have seen companies selling sods of turf online. Also on ebay one guy sold sterilised irish soil, intended for people to throw on coffins just before covering in.

Just remember that when you sell alcohol to home sick Irish people, the importing country usually charges a very high tax on alcohol being imported.

You'd have to set your prices high enough to cover your costs. Then, you'd have to see if people would pay that much. Personally, I don't think they would.

I have sold quite a bit on Ebay but never any food etc.

But I find the likes of the following Irish stuff sells very well especially to America.

    Books on Irish folklore/legends
Anything to do with Podge and Rodge/Ronnie Drew/Father Ted/Irish Comediens
    Irish Magazines.
    Irish Knitwear.

I usually find these things in my local second hand store and sell them on for a profit, it does take a bit of trial and error to see what will actually sell, it is time consuming but at the end of the day, there is money to be made if you put the work in.;)

You can type in any item and look up how these items have sold and for how much, will give you an idea.

I am thinking of putting cans of Tanora on ebay...even people as far away as Dublin could then get the best fizzy drink in the world

Ive heard recently that items posted on ebay.ie and ebay.co.uk are not listed on ebay.com anymore....

Did anyone hear about this? Is it true?

Would make selling items to the americans pretty hard!
