UFC Releases One Fighter, Signs Another

    From f4wonline.com:
Dean Lister is gone from UFC. David Loiseau has been signed by UFC. Loiseau was a top middleweight contender who even starred in a Xyience commercial until a string of losses and boring fights put him out of the show.

Lister was inevitably going to be released if he didn't start have exciting fights. And his last one, vs Okami, was apparently the worst of the worst

Loiseau looked impressive the last couple of times I saw him. I don't think that he'll be at the top of the middleweight division but he should do decent enough for himself I think

dean leaving was inevitable after the okami fight and his string of underpar and undercarded performances.

Pity tho, A fight with Demian Maia would have been interesting..

Lister asked to be released by the UFC - he will seek out other opportunities in Affliction/DREAM etc to fight more frequently and get himself back on game.

Don't count out the Boogeyman just yet - he'll be back.

Loiseau was a good performer untill he injured his hands and elbows.
He never gave them a chance to heal up, so lost all the punching power.
Now he seems to have that issue resolved.
Good to see him back, he has some of the best elbow strikes in MMA.

He was going to be released anyway though. Dave Meltzer said that the UFC intentionally didn't release anyone over the Christmas period and that there'll be more releases soon enough

How is going to DREAM (six shows in a year) or Affliction (two shows in seven months) going to give a UFC (around twenty shows a year) fighter an opportunity to fight more? :pac: You know that's not the real reason

They should have gotten rid of Lister sooner. A fight with Maia would be an exhibition of bad kickboxing or a complete grappling stalemate. Lister is just a boring fighter, that's it.

    no way!

Both of those guys like the ground too much to keep it standing.

I see it as an intriguing ground match.. Maybe not everybodys cup of tea, but definitely one for the grappling enthusiasts.
