My uncle's '88 BX diesel now rots in the corner of his field.

From what he told me about it, it wasn't particularly fast, it could hit 75mph flat out! :D

    S.I.R is a controversialist.

Had a 17RD for a few years, no power steering! But very ecomonical and pulled perfectly well.

Had an 88 bx 19dtr, silver , sunroof etc. Smashing car, 50 mpg on diesel, would clock 95 no prob. Had it for three years and all I replaced were a few of those famous suspension globes under the bonnet, all in all about 100 quid. Sold it to a guy in Kerry , doubted she's still going though. 88wd215.
Had lots of fibre glass parts , so shouldn't have rusted so much. However like we've said the nct wiped lots of collectibles off the face of Ireland. Still see Peugeot 305s , 205s , bxs etc being driven in the country in France, Haven't seen these for a long time in Erins Isle. Maybe with the death of the tiger, we might see them back.:D

found a 205 sitting up a while in the d4 region...

have to find the owner as its none rusty, early 90's and perfect for a nice resto job...

any news on that bx ?

No news really. Just getting it safe for the road as I don't have a car trailer. Might have to start the engine to lift it off the back wheels which is a bit awkward as the ignition doesn't want to turn. Could take awhile. But it seems to be worth the trouble as its nice and straight with no rust and it was regularly serviced as it was the owners everyday car.

I'll try and get some pictures up when I get it home.

This is a big ask I know but could anyone rent me their car trailer for €30 (normally €60 from a hire company). My insurance covers use of a trailer so you'll know its safe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

i might be able to dig you out as ill be going to check out a mkIII escort and will need a trailor ;)

I take it you mean going half way on the hire price if so that would interest me. What day would suit you?

I've been in contact with Indespension Trailer Hire their offering a trailer for Saturday to Monday morning for €60 although it doesn't have a winch. Navan hire have car transporters with winches, I'll contact them tomorrow to check their prices.
Anyway S.I.R if your serious lets negotiate by PM.

    And this..?
    Civic_Mk2_1.jpg
I reckon you are thinking of these ones?
    Civic_Mk3_1.jpg
    Civic_Mk4_1.jpg
They often get mistaken for the MK1 and 2 as the earlier ones are largely forgotten about, when they are actually the MK3 and 4.

    Apologies for the off topicness..
