Booking Thomascook.com holidays

Does anybody know of any travel agent that I can book Thomas Cook Package holidays through? I can get a package with them flying from Belfast to Paphos which works out nearly half the price as it does from Flying from Dublin with other travel agents.

The problem is they only accept UK credit cards.

I was hoping that there would be UK online travel agents that I can book the same package through at the same price or close to the same price.

Travel agents and tour operators must pay a deposit/bond to operate in Ireland as a fully fledged travel company. This bond is to ensure nobody is left stranded on a package holiday abroad and the taxpayer having to foot the bill to repatriate them.
(Simplified explanation as posting via phone,)

Search this forum for expedia uk for people with similar past problems.

Easiest option may be train to Belfast with an envelope of GBP.

I had thought about that but you won't get the online price in any of the stores.

I've found some sites I can book through no problem but they add a fairly serious premium onto the price I got from thomascook.com.

I don't know how being from Ireland should come into it. I want to fly from a UK airport and book through a UK travel agent.

Search this forum for Thomas Cook, I'm pretty sure a poster had the same problem last year and paid in-store up north.

Hi Havana. Yesterday it wasn't possible to enter a card for a country other than UK, after a site upgrade it now seems I can. The only thing that concerns me is I can't enter an Irish Address, it expects a UK only one. I presume I can put pretty much anything in here as all correspondence will be by email. Is that what you found?

It was a couple of months ago and i can't remember the process. I checked the site to see if it jogged my memory but i'm posting from my phone and it wont let me go thru the booking process. I do remember it was a simple process.
I do have a vague memory of thinking the same as you about email contact. On uk sites its usually the postcode that causes the issue but i was obviously able to get around that.

sorry i can't be of more help.

There is a Thomas Cook shop at the bottom of Grafton street.

Sorry could I ask how you got around the postcode issue, does the credit card you are using not have to match the address, if I'm living in dublin, how do I get around this?
