    hi all,

my dog has a bloodshot eye and it seems to be half closed with a lot of gunk coming out. my mam is calling it a "cold in his eye". i'm washing it out with cotton wool and water and it seems to be getting a bit better but am looking to see if theres anything else i can do to help him?
dont mind if i have to bring him to vet but he got stitches last week and is due back in this weekend to get them removed so i hoping not to go in before that.

If its half closed and there is gunk then it sounds like an infection. I wouldnt be leaving it too much longer before bringing him to the vet as it could get a lot worse.
How long is the eye like this?

it started yesterday morn when he woke up, his eye was only half opening. i'll bathe it again tonight and again in the morn and if its not improving i'll bring him to the vet tomor eve. i really hope its not an infection as the poor dog has been to the vets an awful lot recently and is really beginning to hate going in there.
