    What does DC stand for? I assume it is the required dice roll to succeed, where does the number come from?

    DC =Dice check,
    It is the difficulty level of the action which gives it is number above or under which the player or gm on the player behave much reach on rolling.
    This is set by the gm or laid out in the book if they are working from a pre generated adventure.

    Thaed is indeed correct DC is indeed what you have to roll to pass, Dice Check is what it stands for,

    In normal SLA rules in order to pass a check you need to roll 2D10 + skill - modifiers if the result is over 11 you pass if it is under 11 you fail. I've tried this method and it doesnt really work very well i dont like it so i've modified the rules slightly.

    You roll 2D10 + skill - modifiers the result must be higher than the DC for you to pass.

    The starting DC for any roll is 10 then i add modifiers for example if you didnt aim this turn +1, if your target is behind cover +2 etc etc you then roll your 2D10 add the skill if it beats my pre-determined DC you pass, if you roll 2 X 1's on your roll you critically fail (something very bad happens). If you roll 2 X 10's on your roll you critical success and something very good happens to you.

    the only acception to this rule is when you use stats for checks.

    for example most op's have a starting STR stat of 10 and say for example you only need 12 to pass. then you cant fail. so i've come up with another way of rolling checks,

    your stat / Bonus to roll

    6 = +2
    8 = +4
    10 = +6
    12 = +8
    14 = +10
    15 = +12

    So if you had a 10 STR you'd get a +6 roll to your STR

    2D10 + 6 - modifiers Vs the DC

    one more thing i forgot to mention the DC range is from 1 - 30

    Game turn 10 rolls:

    Please note from this turn going forward i will be adding (as a test) a -2 penalty roll for anyone attempting a roll that they are not skilled in. This -2 may increase or decrease over the next few turns as i road test this rule out. - Cheers

    For example if you were to attempt to use a PC and you had no skill normally i would roll 2D10 and add your DIA skill looking at this some of your DIA stats are at 8 and 10 this would give you a massive boot that would be larger than actually knowing the skill itself,


    So now you will get your 2D10 roll + your DIA bonus however there will be a -2 penalty for being unskilled at something your attempting to do.
