Splitting MMDS Signal

    Hi ,

    I have a bit of an issue and any help at all would be very much appreciated .

    When i moved into my house I ordered Chorus MMDS ( Living in Newbridge ).
    I had the house prewired to have Co-ax, Cat 5 to every room in the house and to come back to a room underneath the stairs .

    The day the guys from Chorus came i was in work and i had my better half inform them where the coax to supply to hole house is and if they could link up to the sitting room and main bedroom from there.

    My problem is we have 3 floors in the house and the top floor was not finished so she had them link the coax to the bedroom that we were staying in at the time.

    Now the top floor has been all done and dusted and we are getting set to move in, I decided i would just switch the coax over to the room were are now using or just get a larger splitter . I went and got an 8 way splitter but when i went to trace the cable from the top floor (using an oscillator ) I have now found that they used the feed going up to the main room . The basically put the little dish on the roof and used my feed going up to the room as the main feed into the house !

    At the end of the feed they have it plugged into a little black box (I presume its a signal amplifier)

    Is possible to take a feed off the line before it goes down to the room under neath the stairs or will i have to move this convertor unit up also ?

    that little black box, drives the downconverter thats in the aerial. You can split the cable before it goes there but you need to make sure the splitter will allow power from that unit upto the aerial. Some splitters wont allow power through and hence wont work.
