Help! My Eircom BB connection...

    Hello all,

Had B/B for just over a year now but in the last few weeks my connection has started to do funny things!

First of all i am a pretty heavy user most months and like many, i go over my monthly d/l limit 70-80% of the time.

I have started to notice that my ping times have gone to hell...my typical ping times most times of the day (including the wee hours of the morning) sits ~300ms. This makes gaming on the XBOX360 a non starter and really effects day to day browsing, streaming sites like youtube are a nightmare. I am on the 3Mb package (no upgrade here yet!) and speeds when using the internet are abysmal.

The strange thing is that using torrents i get pretty much the full speed from my connection with well seeded torrents getting ~300 kB/s.

Nothing has changed in the house with regards to connections/phone lines. I have also noticed quite a few threads with people complaining about eircom ping times, so is this something that i have to put up with? Would there be any benefit moving to another provider?

Here are my line stats and a tracert to give you an idea of my problem....
