    Hi,
I've had a quick look around google recently for an application I can use to log time I spend on things at work to increase productivity and find out where my time is going to.

I use excel for other things and I find it very good. I’d like to use it for logging my time aswell.

The solution I was thinking of is some simple timer device that could be mapped to my keys F1 to F12. Each of them could be a separate timer. In my head I will have each key assigned to different sub tasks in certain jobs I do. When the whole job is complete I will be able to see how much time has been spent on each sub task and write them into my excel table. (I'm thinking just copy and paste - don't want anything complicated)

I’m looking for a KISS solution basically. None of the bells and whistles rubbish floating around google!

The only app I've found which I like that does this for free is Task Coach and it's a full todo list manager.

It's far from perfect, and is only on version 0.71.5, but it lets you track tasks and subtasks by time spent.

You have to start and stop the timer for each task.

Alternatively you could create pretty much exactly what you want with using something like AutoHotKey or AutoIt...it'd take a bit of effort as you have to get to know the scripting language but neither of them is very complicated and there are many examples to guide you.
