Getting professional career guidance?!?

    Hi All.

And a happy (and prosperous) new year to you all!!

I have used these boards as a way to get insight to certain professions etc etc. And I have always found it really useful, thanks to people offering advice etc etc etc.

    However my question is this.....

....How would I go about getting proper professional career guidance.
I have had advice from agencies, but as we are all aware, they probably don't really have the ability or thorough knowledge to offer strong long term advice.....(that was me being as polite as possible!!)

So as 2009 starts, who would I go to to get proper advice, i.e. if I am suitable for a career in such-n-such industry, will there be economic growth in blah-blah industry, how would I get into so-n-so industry.......

I would obviously be willing to pay good money if I thought I was going to get a good service.

    Thanks in advance. :)

    Thanks AARRRGH.

I have gotten excellent advice here in the past, i'm just wondering if taking professional advice will be worth it.

Has anyone you know, or anyone here used careermatters, or any similar company?

    Thanks again.
