Bike internal storage hooks / racks for house

    Hi folks,
Does anyone have a recommendation for hooks/racks to store bikes inside? Currently have two MTBs propped beside the kitchen table which are getting in the way. My preference would be to hang the bikes vertically on a wall using something like this, but it might look a bit industrial for the kitchen.

Something relatively cheap and inconspicuous would be just the job.

    You want cheap?

I have some of these for the shed, haven't got around to putting them up yet though.

Thanks, but I'd prefer something with a plate behind it (like the one I linked to) to keep tyre marks/mud/roadkill off the walls. My OH isn't impressed when I turn the kitchen into a workshop, so 'redecorating' the walls with the tyre dirt might be the last straw...

THESE are quite 'funky' :) They'd look ok on a kitchen.

Hi, I used to keep my 2 bikes in my bedroom! Well, I still do, just the racer is now displayed nicely on the wall. I got one of these for €9.00 but you might prefer one of the vertical ones like this for €7.00 (or even the 2 bike version). I find ProBikeKit very good for some stuff (like CRC they ship to Ireland free). You might just want to look at the storage category here and pick out the one that best suits your needs!

P.S. Attatched is a picture of my bike on the wall (the bike is out a bit from the wall, made to fit MTB handlebars too, but still neater than the vertical mounts!) Good luck :D

    Hi!

I have a Topeak dual touch stand (http://www.topeak.com/products/Storage/Dual-TouchBikeStand), holds two bikes and clamps floor to ceiling and there's no bolting or drilling of walls required.

It also, depending on how you place it, holds the bike out from the wall leaving no marks for the OWMBO to complain about. Might give a bike shop-ish look to the kitchen though...you can always say it's an 'installation' and charge people admission.

You might be able to get one on sale if you look around at the moment. Hope this helps
