What do people think are the best Irish albums of 2008? Here's my two cents anyway ...

    1. Fight Like Apes and the Mystery of the Golden Medallion - Fight Like Apes
    2. Go God Go - Fred
    3. Sea Sew - Lisa Hannigan
    4. Kill or Create - The Infomatics
    5. Ritual - Jape
    6. I Thought This Day Would Never Come - Duke Special
    7. Pleasant Square - Robotnik
    8. The Colour of Sound - Autamata
    9. From the Word Go - Messiah J & The Expert
    10. Anaesthesia ad Infinitum - Ilya K / Welcome to the Cusp - Giveamanakick
(I couldn't decide here and didn't want to leave either of these gems out.)

Beyond Hard Places - Noelie McDonnell, it knocks all the other albums to the ground.

Live Irish album of the year: Live At The Melody Tent by The Saw Doctors.

+1 on Noelie McDonnell, and add in the following:

    Free - Luan Parle
Second Time Around - Nell Bryden (not 100% sure exactly how she qualifies, but her single was on downloadmusic.ie)
Prepare to be Happy - Owen Brady
    My Cardboard Spaceship - Neev
God Bless The Big Bang - Rory

Adebisi Shank - This is the Album of a Band Called...
    RSAG - Organic Sampler
Vinny Club - Rocky IV Reckyrd
Dudley Corporation - Year of the Husband

Really like "I Was A Man" by Jape, not yet into the rest of the album though. I've heard a lot about the Jimmy Cake so they're next on the list to check out.
