    Howdy!
Just wondering has anyone any suggestions for fundraising for a youth group that goes to Lourdes every year to assist the elderly and disabled?
There is about twenty of us from the one town going every year and we've always paid out of our own pockets but we are trying to come up with ways to help us!
Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Thanks for the suggestions! Regarding you being against the group on moral grounds, I fully respect that but when I started the thread it was for suggestions and not comment. I don't mean that in any cheeky way, I'm being perfectly straight with you. I understand Lourdes and religion in general isn't everyone's cup of tea but I've met people of varying levels of faith there and even people of non-christian religions. Having experienced every year since 2005, it becomes clear that it is more than just a religious experience, I hope you can appreciate that.:)
    Thanks again for the suggestion

yeah poems, photos of the church/religous interest. I think more churches should have a small shop type thing for this

In addition to any other ways to raise funds that you come up with, I would recommend you also ask you local parish priests to put their own hands in their own pockets so to speak by donating at least the contents of one church plate per Sunday mass to what appears to be a worthy cause. That would in my humble opinion be supporting their congregation in the best possible way.
