My PC and my TV are on oppasite sides of the room. I want to watch video's from my pc on my tv, but I don't want to run a massive cable around the room. Is there some sort of simple wireless device that takes a video out from the graphics card and beams it across the room so that I can plug it onto my tv, just like I was using a cable?

A PS3 or X-Box 360 will allow this along with a piece of software called "Twonkymedia".

This works a treat and is simple to setup.

Cheers but I'd rather a more simple and cheaper solution where vga out shows up on my tv

used to use an old video sender connected to rf out on an old pc , no experience of these in recent years.

Maplin have some but they dont seem cheap at all.

Might help if you tell us the choice of inputs and outputs available on tv and pc

Going in the opposite direction, I'd be interested in an item that could send my sky signal to my pc (in the bedroom) by wireless method - anyone know if that ability exists?

I have video senders that send my sky signal to another tv in the kitchen.
If there was a card or something out there that had a scart socket on the back of it, that would be ideal. Been looking for one, no joy yet.

SCART is a twisted and evil European contraption. Cant you convert the SCART signal downto some other cable that is compatible with a TV card.

with a scart to phono adapter connected to the av sender, dunno what the quality would be like

you need a wireless tv sender, a tv card with a yellow rca connector and these:

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=35904
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=44057

most tv cards would have an rca (composite) connector as well as a coax one

edit:if you can find a cable with a scart at one end and the yellow rca and a 3.5mm plug at the other you don't need the second thing

fit a tv tuner with a red white and yellow connectors on the card then u can plug in a sky digital signal sender

hauppauge hvr 1300mce will work with wintv software

i got one with freeview sattelite set top box hooked up.

once hauppauge update wintv v7 to use dvb-t mpeg 4 (due some time this year) to work with all the hvr cards u will also be able to tune in rte digital terrestial.

Hello all, I have just ordered a sky+ box and hope to get it installed nwxt week. Could somone explain to me what I would need to send the signal from the box to my vaio laptop and if you have any product links I would appreciate it, not very good at this 'geek' stuff but would love to be able to watch the odd movie upstairs, thanks in advance.
