I'd say you'll get very short odds on that.

He's a shoe-in for something over the next 11 years and the bookies know it.

If I got 10/1 I'd snap it up..

Could be wrong now, what you reckon OP??

Paddy Power have him at 4-1 to win one by the end of 2014 (by the time he's 25).

I had originally said 5/1 in my post above but though nah that's madness, obviously not!!

That's madness, much better value bets available out there, no value in that at all.

Dont know really, but I reckon anything around the 3/1 mark would be fair enough.

He doesn't even need to win one, just get into a challenging position on a Sunday in order for you to win money, as you could lay it off.

    Its an interesting one.

12 years is a long time to wait for a bet to materialise...........will you remember or find the slip (or will it be online with automatic pay-out)?

4-1 is poor odds. Although Rory is a good player there are lots of things that could prevent him winning a major. Firstly he has to beat Woods in a major and that doesn't happen that often. Many good players never win a major and at this stage McIlroy is unproven.

Between now and the end of 2020 there will be 48 majors. Mc Ilroy is 66/1 for the masters and the Open this year. On the basis that he will continue to improve over the next ten years, you can reasonably assume a starting price in each major of averaging 35-40/1. Based on that any price of Evens or better would be a fair price.

Would have to factor in inflation in a bet over that period of time though.
