Anyone else have a HP Pavillion 6000 or 9000 series lappy?

Just pondering here, I have a HP Pavillion DV6331eu laptop since July of 2007. Until recently we have only have wired broadband at home, but a few months back we got in Eircom wireless, great I thought, no more cables, I can book a holiday in my back garden etc etc......:pac:

Wireless worked on my lappy for a few hours when I installed first, then stopped, and hasnt worked since, I had to go back to a wired connection! :(

Now, back in August, when on holidays in Galway we were staying near a hotel, I could pick up a wireless connection and use the net, but again, only for a few hours then it stopped, I could only pick it up on one day, even though my brothers Acer could pick it up all the time!!

So after the incident with failed connection at home with the eircom connection I did some research and it appears that the HP Pavillion DV6000 and 9000 have faulty, or bad wireless cards!! Given that my lappy is well out of warranty I cant send it back :mad:

Anyway of solving this? Has anyone had a similar problem and solved it? Could I buy one of those wireless card thingies and pop it into the side of the lappy? Would that (I dont know the correct phrase) 'over ride' the installed wireless card?

    Thanks

if the 6331 is on the list of extended warranty models you can get it repaired up to july 2009.
