You can go on holidays to them. I believe it's 90 days. Check US Embassy website to be sure.

There is also some new work visa thing.. but being still young with no college (not eligible for J1?) you may not qualify.

You can definatly go on a holiday visa for max 90 days. A friend of mine did it last year. Just turn up at the airport with your passport

Up to 90 Days for your standard joe soap with an Irish passport. All you have to do is pre-fill your ESTA (see sticky thread at the top of forum) and the forms given to you at the airport. No need to go to the embassy.

You can't work, of course. And there will be very little chance of any other visa worth applying for being available to you/worth applying for for 90 days.

Just make sure you have enough money with you to cover living expenses for the 90 days otherwise they might not let you into the country. Happened me about ten years ago when I went to stay with family for the summer. Only had about $200 in my pocket and they thought I was there to work so I had alot of trouble convincing them otherwise. A horrible experience altogether, put in a cell for about 2 hours (I kid you not) and it was just horrible,,,,so just make sure you've got loads of dosh :)

Yep, you can stay up to 90 days for holiday...I don’t know much about working visa or J1…sorry!!
I checked that out when I was going to USA for 2 weeks last year. You can turn up in Airport with passport and return ticket...just as the others mentioned above.

***I would recommend you to get travel insurance as in USA it cost a lot for a hospital visit.

Hope that is some help to you!
