European weekends - Friday evening -> Sunday evening

    Hello guys,

    I am looking for european places to visit (excl. UK) where you can fly on a Friday evening (from Dublin, being a local) and back on a Sunday evening - ie. no impact on working week, and decent weekend.

    eg. with Ryanair, Dublin-Frankfurt return
    Fri, 6 Feb 09
    FlightFR 9989 19:40 Depart
    22:25 Arrive

    Sun, 8 Feb 09
    FlightFR 1949 22:15 Depart
    23:15 Arrive

    Now I know there's loads of options to come home earlier on the Sunday, or leave early on the Friday, but for the purposes of this post, I'm not interested :D:pac:

    The choice is limited when you strictly stick to Friday evening to Sunday evening but taking the sample dates you gave (6th-8th of February) perhaps....

    Brussels - Ryanair

    All for the nice cost of €38 return inc taxes. 4/5 star hotels are cheap in Brussels on the weekend too, you will get a good deal. Brussels tends to have a reputation as being "boring", but i strongly disagree with this stigma, it's what you make of it and for your strict weekend purposes it's a strong candidate with nice places to eat, drink (excellent beer) and a few lovely sights to see e.g Grand Place etc...and you could also do a few hours in Bruges on Saturday.

    Again nice city to fit into a weekend.

    There is quite a few places that can accomodate Fri - Sun but you will definitely have to compromise with work by even taking a half day on the Friday if you are going to get the most out of the weekend as a lot of flights depart on Friday afternoon. If you don't you will spend the majority of the time travelling & arrivng late at night and it just isn't worth it! Workaholic??? :pac::P
