Need the help of an Actual member of AGS!!!!

Need to apply for a new Age card and Drivers license. I know i need my brith cert but will a photo copy of my birth cert be ok? Iv lost my original!:(

BTW im fairly sure i posted this in the wrong area so mods feel free to move... Just thought it would be suitable here as i need the advice from a Garda and there in plentiful supply here:D

nope has to be the original, you can get a replacement for €10 only know where to get them in Limerick though.

On the Age Card thing.

I can't understand why a Passport won't do instead of a birth cert.

You need the birth cert to get the passport in the first place and it's a photo i.d.

And why not include PPS numbers? They're unique and everyone has one from the year dot.

Lastly, why not include all Age Card holders on PULSE so a guard on the street can check alleged under age drinkers etc.

Is it a civil liberty issue? It's a voluntary thing and nobody has to get a card.

Am I just giving away all my good ideas to the other Assistant Commissioners by posting here?

Never ever would I accept a photocopy of any form of ID. Too often have checks shown that the copy and original do not match in certain areas such as photograph or year of birth.

But if i had my Passport to back up the photocopy of the birth cert?
