I have a couple of questions that someone might be able to help me with.
My girlfriends bike was recently stolen and i am trying to replace it with a second hand bike. I was looking for a hybrid for 150 - 200 and just dont really no where to look does anyone have any ideas? Heard the Garda auction is good but cant find anything out about it. Any help would be appreciated.
I myself am looking to start cycling for the first time really. I am hoping to do the Wicklow 200 this year and need to get a bike. What sort of bike should i get and where would be best place to get one? My max budget would be about 500. Again any help on this would be much appreciated. I had stumbled accross this bike on the net and thought it looked like a good deal but not sure...

What height are you and your girlfriend?

I have both a hybrid and a road bike for sale - will post up ads when I get home early next week. To be honest though, there really is excellent value to be had from online UK retailers at the moment given the exchange rate.

My road bike is a Large Giant SCR 2.0 (so you'd need to be over 5'10" for it to suit) is one year old and in very good condition and has the Shimano Tiagra groupset (two steps up from the 2200 on the BeOne you linked to) and has a carbon front fork. I'm selling it for €400 for the bike or €450 with a load of accessories (front and rear lights, race blade mudguards worth €40, spare tubes, saddle bag, crossbar bag, small rucksack, tyre levers, puncture repair kit).

The hybrid is a Lappiere Sub Alloy 590 2 Alloy Lite which has front suspension that can be opened or closed easiliy even while cycling and it's a quite light bike with medium size tyres. I'm selling that for €200.

I would do the lot for €600 if they happened to suit your sizes and you were interested, but it would be a smart move for you to check out the options online.

    Hi,
I recently inquired about the bike auctions and here's the answer I got...

I confirm that there is no longer a bike auction held in Kevin Street
Garda Station. All garda auctions are maintained by Merlin Car Auctions
in Ashbourne and you can confirm with them when the next date there will
be one on. They are on the web and their address is
    www.merlincarauctions.ie

    Kind Regards,

    Sergeant Margaret Flanagan,
    Garda Press Office.
