Wigan at home tonight. They are missing there 2 main players in Zaki and Heskey which should stronlgy help our chances. We are missing a couple in midfield, and BAE is suspended, so we are likely to see Bale at left full. I read somewhere that Giovani is back from injury so he may feature in the squad.

I also read this morning that Harry has described Taarabt as a genius !! Are we finally going to see him produce ? Maybe Harry can mould him in to a proper player, fingers crossed !

HT: i think pav is lookin a bit sharper and modric is havin a good game. bentley started poorly but has came into it a little at the end, seems to be squandering alot of chances and making it easy for defenders/keeper to clear or claim.

thought we had when we had some nice exciting linkups we looked dangerous but again these seemed to be fleeting spells only. any thoughts chaps?

3-1 in the end. Wigan pulled it back to 2-1 with 5 minutes to go, and was worried for a few minutes, but Pav got the winner with the last kick of the game. He had a great game there. Fully deserved that goal at the end. Overall a very good win for us.

Top-notch reaction by Modric to get his head to the rebound and score the second.

Some very loose play, though, losing the ball far too easily at times nearly cost us the game.

If we can keep the good bits (and there were loads) and get rid of that tendency, then we're on to something.

Good win, but definitely room for a fair bit of improvement.

I have been Pavs biggest critic all season but he had a great game even without the goals. He looked eager and confident. Did alot of the things I criticised him for not being able to do. Some great first time passes, super first time cross pitch pass to Bently (again underwhelming). Held up the ball well and even beat players. Hope he can keep up the form.

Still need more bite in the midfield but Zokora played really well and did great infront of the defence, passed well and held on to the ball when he needed to.

    COYS!!

agree a good performance and well taken goals. pav had a good game and possibly earned himself a starting possesion for next game, especially with bent looking hurt.

happy with the win. was not expecting a full strenght side out to be honest. good game too seemed to have a good cup atmosphere about it. credit wigan played their part in an entertaining match
