Jets fired Mangini, Broncos got rid of shanahan, Raiders still looking for a HC, Lions in need of one aswell. There could be plenty of other comings and goings aswell. Cowboys got rid of the ST coach, I wonder if it will end there.

Cowher supposedly reject the Jets' because he didnt want Farve as his QB. :pac:

    Broncos - ?
    Browns - ?
    Jets - ?
    Lions - ?
    Raiders -?
    Rams - ?

    Anyone else?

Where did you hear that? I was watching this interview with Adam Schefter and the impression I got was that if Cowher even touched a football field within the next year he'd spontaneously combust. I'd love if he was wrong though and Cowher did take up a job - I hate Adam Schefter!

I'd have fired Shanahan too. A collapse like that - it means the writing is on the wall. Terrible injustice to their fans.
Mangini was fired simply so Brett could be too. His day is up, but Chucky, seeing such glee in one of the greatest the game has ever seen struggling .... well, it's not nice.
Cowboys getting rid of ST coach is like having an itchy foot and scratching your head. One major breakdown on a punt*, yes, but honestly the problems go much, much deeper.
I have no idea what the Browns were at this year, seems the head coach didn't either. As far as inexperienced QB's go, BB he ain't. :D

*And we've seen that in other seasons from Mr. Clutch himself - T. Romo :pac:

I like him. He's a pretty straight talker. Little to dislike IMO

there's something unsettling about just how proffesional Adam Shefter is and the amount of info he has. I've never seen a journalist like him in any sport.

I wouldnt be suprised if the Cowher stayed away from the nfl or came back. I personally think he'd be a much better fit for the Browns rather then anyone else. Now the question is would he take a job coaching in the same division as the steelers.

He should quit then. He an absolute joke of a QB this year, and just because it's brett farve doesnt mean he should get a free walk on the criticism. I think the way he acted last year was a joke aswell, why cant he just make his mind? he'll probaly piss about again this off-season over his decision.

Of course he deserves criticism but not all the criticism for the Jets collapse. 9 picks, 2 TDs is very poor but we know that his arm was underpowered and clearly the coaching staff did. Why didn't they have the balls to bench him?

Thomas Jones didn't have a 100 yard rushing game since week 13, he had 13 yards last week.

Where were the Jets D, last week they played the Seahawks who's offensive line was decimated from pre season. Something like 5 new guys throught the course of the year. Where was Jenkins at the end of the year?

But the Jets have improved from an awful losing record last year to a winning one. They are in a better position than before Farve.

Oh and i hope to God Farve decides soon what he's doing. I'll be in the States for a few months working and don't want that soap opera everywhere i go.

Well the HC was sacked so you cant say he's avoiding all the criticism. Jones only got the ball 10 times last week. They would of been in a better position with any other QB this year, there resurrgance has little to do with Farve.

He's been getting a ridiculous amount of criticism in New York anyway, he deserves to be criticised but its being ott imo. Either way you look at it the team improved and he was learning the offence as he went along. Pennington was muck with basically the same offence as this year. If their resurgance was little to do with Farve then why is the whole collapse heaped on him?(in the media, not the organisation clearly going by Mangini's sacking)

The Defence were great at the start of the year but what happened? They were muck down the stretch. TJ got 23 yards of 10 carries, not exactly stellar, 2.3 average is very poor for someone to pubically criticise a team mate. Now i'm not saying Farve is immune, 9 picks is dreadful but reading some NY journalists you'd swear Farve was the sole reason for their collapse and Mangini's sacking.

For the Rams, I'm actually pretty optimistic about the noises Haslett has been making. I didn't really expect him to turn the season around after taking over from Linehan, but to his credit, he did win a couple and four of the losses were a field goal or less I think.

He's talking like every Rams fan wants their head coach to talk - he's evaluating everybody, getting ready to dump the rubbish without sentimentality - hopefully this means Chavous (of the laughably bad angle giving up an 80 yard Favre touchdown early in the season), Incognito (said he was queasy in Week 17, got kicked out of the locker room) and the likes of Bennett who just never showed up whether because of injury or poor effort.

I like that he's doing the prep whether or not he gets the job, and I like that he truly believes he's the best candidate. So it's a vote for Haz here. Hey, pick up an FA tackle, trade down and draft Maualuga or Laurenitis as a decent MLB so Witherspoon can shift to OLB and...

It is the NFC West after all, and who says Kurt Warner's coming back? Playoffs 2010?

    As for everyone else:

I reckon Cable for the Raiders
Browns wanted Cowher bad, but he won't coach.
Shanahan probably won't coach this year either.

Mike Martz was fired as OC in SF this week too... chances of him at least interviewing for some of these jobs are pretty high - fans pay to see Martz-style offense. He even has a chance in STL I'd say.

It wasnt the same offence. Pennington didnt have the leading AFC rusher standing behind him and they upgraded the OL too. A once of poor game for Jones. In the previous two he averaged 3.9, while not brilliant it's not too ad when he

3 of his supposed team-mates come out and knocked him this week, which is extremely rare too happen to any QB no matter how bad. 2 TD's and 9 Ints in the run is shocking.

If you look at Favre's first 10 games, he was one of the best QB's in the league.

It's obvious something physically went wrong for him. (Maybe it was age). The Jets took a risk on him and it almost paid off. It's a sad way to see the guy go out, but he did better than most 39 year-old's could dream about.

Edit: I can see McNabb go to the Jets for some reason, with Cassel heading to Phily. Call me crazy .....

    Jones was there last year. Yes the O line has improved in fairness though. A good reason was Jones has become the leading rusher is Farve, teams feared him more than Pennington and it gave Jones more scope for his play. Farve had no training camp either if we remember. In the last few games;

Farve went to crap, his age probably a factor with the pain in his shoulder.

The Defense went to the wall.

TJ didn't get it done like he did earlier in the year.

The coaches failed biggest to be fair witht their play calling and decisions-the HC got the chop which is probably fair enough.

Fair evaluation. His arm was shot for the last few games, he may need surgery for on it-http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3800421
