Planning on getting a new tv something round the 32" size.

Can anyone give me any pointers or recommend any tv/deal out there at the minute?

All I know is HD ready is pretty important right? What sort of companies are the best etc?

Also can you hook all these new flat screen tvs to walls as standard anymore?

    Thanks in advance.

Sony Samsung and LG would be your first point of call!

What will you be using the tv for? Sky HD/Ps3 or Xbox etc etc?

some flat screen TVs have irritatingly long pauses between flicking channels. Im talking 6 seconds from pressin the button to a new channel appearing on the screen.

hopefully new TVs do not have this problem anymore.

Well ive seen adds for these sized tvs going for around 400 euro...so maybe 500 euro tops?

Will be using it mainly for just watching tv (normal sky) watching dvds sometimes and will probably end up moving the xbox 360 into the same room as it...

If you're using terrestrial aerial for getting channels from a major transmitter, then maybe consider an MPEG4 DTT tuner also, though that said, seperate settopboxes will be available when the time/need arises. If you're solely using Sky, I guess it makes no difference.

Try getting a TV with plenty of various inputs. I'd suggest it have at least 2 HDMI, 2 Scart, and then component and composite inputs.

    Panasonic should also be considered.

Ive noticed phillips hasnt been mentioned yet? Are they one to avoid or should be looked at too? They are a big enough brand?

I read somewhere that theres a difference to HD and HD ready? Is that true?

Can anyone point out actual decent tv to look at thats being advertised at the minute?

i bought a Philips TV in Harvey Norman, got them to knock €150 off it

    Its a 37PFL5603D/10

Only ended up costing €679. Im really happy with it as i heard Philips arent great but in the Shop the picture quality looked far better than some other models for alot more money! I use it for PS3 and BluRay only and i love it!
