hi, during the summer I purchased a Nintendo DS and 9 games while on holiday in the US, I have almost never played it and am hoping to trade in the console and games against buying an xbox in gamestop or game etc. I am wondering if I will have any problems trading in the DS and games as they are foreign, though i am aware that Irish DS games work perfectly on the American DS....I hope that makes sense..

any help would be greatly appreciated

You'll have no problems AS LONG AS you have a european adapter. They won't accept the DS without a charger but as long as you have that, you're laughing

I bought a charger when i got back here, it's not nintendo brand though, would that be ok? also, the game cases are different to the usual DS cases, i take it that wont matter?

No in that case you're all set. just make sure to trade it in before the DSi comes out to get a better price ;)

You might have a problem with the games - I had trouble trading in games I bought in America.

There shouldn't be that much of a difference to be honest, most games even have the same box art but some are different. If you have a problem in one shop, try another, I'm sure someone will take it off your hands :D

yeah i'm gonna try hmv, i heard they are best at the moment for trade-ins, i dont know if they would take the console as well though, I'm trying to find somewhere that would take the whole lot off me and give me store credit as I know that I'll get a lot more value for them that way. I'll try anyway, thanks again for your help!!!!

I dont know about the actual ds but i have tried Game and Gamestop looking to trade in US games and have been refused. The barcodes will not 'allow' the till to process them.

The ds itself does have markings on it to say it is a US one

I've traded US DS games in Game, sometimes the barcodes don't match but in that case they just get an EU copy they have themselves and scan that.

Fair enough ,the person i was dealing with said they couldnt be sold here because they didnt have eu markings on them .Post back if you are successful .
