Is is possible to buy a Dell laptop now with XP?

    Was just browsing the Dell site and looking at buying a laptop. I prefer XP over Vista. Is is possible to get a Dell laptop with XP anymore? Do any other vendors provide this out of the box?

    you can but you need to call up, order vista business and ask them to install xp for you.
    you will get a vista business disc and vista business key so if you ever need to reinstall you will have to source your own discs.

    legaly its covered by the downgrade rights that come with vista business but dell, and all other OEMSs arent allowed supply xp on cd anymore

    XP on CD is readily available through online carribbean channels anyway; you would have no problem getting a hold of an OEM disk for XP Pro if you ever need it reinstalled.
