    hi

im due to graduate from college this year with a general business degree.im looking to go on and do ACCA exams.

just trying to get a backup plan sorted if i fail to get a job. im hoping to get a job in a small/medium practice in dublin/surrounding areas. if i fail to get a job by july should i?
-apply to do some acca exams part-time and continue to look for a job?
-apply to do some acca exams full-time?
    -apply to do a masters?

thanks in advance for any help

There's no point in trying to get ahead by doing exams externally imo. If you get an apprenticeship they'll pay for courses and exams and give you study leave. I don't think an employer will care if you have taken the initiative to do exams yourself.

There's a similar thread on doing a masters here:

Large & Medium firms ie top 20 have already finished their grad recruitment for 2009. Some havent even taken anyone on.

If I were you I would apply for local accountancy practices. the small ones (5-10 people). do it soon as once feb comes around because all the accountancy students who are due to graduate this year will be applying everywhere. Also last years grad's who took a year out will also be applying.

just pick up the phone and ask.
