All C+C appreciated - what could I have done differently both in taking the photo (settings can be seen on Flickr) and in processing. The first one is a bit blown out but I think it's not so bad now after a bit of playing around with it in Lightroom.

Never had a chance to capture a firework display. You must be very happy with the results.

    Thanks.

Yep pretty happy with those above and 1 or 2 others. Tbh it was all a bit of luck. I played around with the f-stop beforehand and hoped that the pics wouldn't be too blown out or too dark. I didn't have a remote shutter release so I used a 2 sec timer to try and avoid any blurring when pressing the shutter. After that I just hoped that i'd have something useful in the frame once the pic was taken. With the 2 second delay I found that if I spotted the firework just as it was fired and i was looking at the right spot I usually got a nice pic. Looking at the settings after I think using a wider lense might have been a better idea. I used the 40-150 zoom but almost all the photos were taken at 40 even though we were quite a bit away.

The originals to the first and last ones above look quite a bit different than after processing. The 3rd one looks a lot better full size too.
