Sorry havent ordered from them personally but the website is the direct outlet for terry dolan so you can be assured that they are reputable. there are some good bargains on the website especially time trial frames. have you anything in mind because some of the irish dealers might have good offers on current bikes. eg worldwide cycles in clonmel

Thanks cunavalos, I'm looking for this particular stem http://www.italian-solutions.co.uk/product.php?productid=161697&cat=319&page=1 price seems very cheap compared to european websites, I take a chance on them.

It might be cheap as it is a 26mm clamp which is a bit of an older standard for bars. Most modern bars are "oversized" 31.8mm. So make sure you get the right size for your bars.

I ordered and received a Syntace F99 stem from them about four months ago, had no problems, and as far as i can remember delivery was reasonably quick..never got to use the stem in the end.

What size is the stem jefferson73? if your looking to sell, 90mm would be ideal for me

I haven't shopped there, but it is kind of funny they call themselves 'Italian Solutions' and the only frames they sell are Terry Dolan.

    Unfortunately it's 120 mm.

I can't shop there -something up with the website, nothing can be added to the cart (and I really need a chainring!)

    I assume you're after a 26mm road stem?

I have oversized bars (31.8mm) on both the MTB and Road bike. I got a proper bike fit, so needed got a 120mm for the road bike. I felt a bit cramped on the MTB so tried out the 120mm and it seems much better! Just ordered this and some fancy Specialized heaset spacers!

So to answer your question, it was a 31.8mm MTB or Road stem I was looking for (is there much difference between the two - Road & MTB stems, because my LBS gave me one of these for the road bike although it is technically a MTB stem, I have to say the Road version looks remarkable similar! Any major differences or is it really much of a muchness? Maybe minimal weight savings is it?)

    No worries - got a 120mm F99 MTB here (25.4).

Road stems will be a bit lighter than mtb - same dimensions though. Wouldn't feel comfortable using a road stem offroad - the other way around would be grand.
