I really dont think it can get any worse, so it can only be better.
I am 22 sitting in the house on my own, waiting for my boyfriend to finish work, moved to this town only a few months ago so trying to make a few more friends cause all the ones I had in college are gone home or somewhere else.
Praying it can only get better!!:o

...or at least that's what I was going to say, until I saw a properly formatted boards.ie poll with the ultimate of all answers Atari Jaguar included!

You, towel401, have already ensured that this year will be great!

Almost at the same time as your post I managed to pour a glass of wine all over myself. That learns me a lesson about dallying away from bottles of lager. Its all upward from here. Now off I go to change my blouse ;)

once obama is in optimism will return -the democtats spend loads of money.

thats the sentiment in the states

everyone expected doom after 9/11 and we are living in prosperity compared to the 80s

Hopefully not for me. Made lots of plans in 2008, hoping to materialise them in 2009.

As for everyone else, you are in even less secure jobs than me with mortgages, bills, loans, children and whatnot, who aren't in the public service - well, you're probably going to have a shítty year, sorry to say.

The way i look at it is that there is 365 more chance for mary harney to have some kind of accident and end up in a&e.......................

Good, good, good.... May all your dreams come through (true...?)

And you don;t need to have money to make the most of it.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Nobody is going to have money, including me, and I'm in college which actually makes it worse cos it means being out more, which requires spondulicks. My options are:

    -Gainful employment (nothing available)
-Taxi plate (along with about 1.5 million other people)

Yeah, bring on 2009. Whoop de ****ing doo.

In fairness there's the whole recession thing a ma jig that's yet to properly kick in so probably yes.

Hopefuully we'll be able to get all the recessionness out of us in 2009 => technically making it a good year. (That makes no sense)

    ^ Exactly.

Good things happen, bad things happen. Bad things only turn around if you try to change them. Poll got a no from me.

It all depends on the first few weeks of this month. If they go according to plan then i think my year will be very good.

Im feeling very optimistic about 2009. The days are going to get longer and warmer. If the recession dosn't lift we can all emigrate to a better place. Im mentally free as of 2009 and feel I have become one with existence. Peace and love to all my homies in lockdown.

Ah here, a mass emigration of boardsies to a remote tropical location where S-Mods and C-Mods rule in a tribal hunter gatherer community where we shall all wear nothing but loincloths and drink coconut juice while 1000 male boardsies reproduce with the 1 female boardsie ad nauseum. It would be just like boards without computers and more tans.

Stupid answer to a stupid question ... Damo! :p

Wait - I thought she was a myth?! Are you seriously suggesting that you believe half the female internet users in Western Europe logs onto boards.ie? Where's yer proof? (And don't go citing "The 'Ladies' Lounge" as proof - there's more sausage in there than a half-pound of Hick's finest.)
