Help with a Creative MP3 player?

I've got a Creative Vision M 60 gig MP3 player. When I connect it to my computer, the screen on the player says it's docked. But when I try to open the "ZEN Vision:M Series Media Explorer" the computer is telling me the plaeyr isn't connected (ie the screen with the blue bar at the top is all grey). This window won't close…

This window won't close either, I can only minimise it. Has this happened to anyone else, and how did you fix it? Cheers!

Edit: Sorted it out, tried the back port on the PC. Still doesn't work on the laptop though...
