I want to be the first to start a thread for 2009.

First up to thank all the members of this forum for all your contributions and debate for the last 12 months. You guys make the forum, myself and Tallaght01 only guide things along.

Second - I wish to deeply thank Tallaght01 for all his help since starting as a moderator here - his insight and style has been a great contribution to the running of this forum.

I have been a moderator here for some time now and am delighted to see this forum go from strength to strength - branching out into other fora such as long term illness, dentistry and eyecare. At one time this forum was much quieter with very little throughput but now holds some pretty heavyweight debates from highly qualified members across the sphere or medicine, paramedical sciences and biological sciences. My thanks is to you all - the members and the contributers for making this forum a roaring success.

Happy New Year to you all and best wishes in your futures.

    John

I'd like to echo DrIndy's sentiments too (especially about tallaght01 being a legend).

I really enjoy reading the contributions of the posters on here.

I've actually learned a lot on this forum, and I'm being honest when I say a lot of our posters make me feel very very stupid, when I read their knowledgeable posts.

I hope all of you have a lovely new year.

My particular aim for the forum in the new year would be to attract more biologists, so we can better cater to the BIOLOGY sector of the biology+medicine community.

Thanks to everyone for making my job and DrIndy's job pretty easy around these parts.

You just don't see many Johns in the newborn community anymore, actually.

My prediction for the future is that John will become one of those names that you only see in old people, like gertrude :P
