    I hope I am not breaching Boards.ie etiquette here....

    I am an accountant- trying to set up on my own doing freelance bookkeeping/wages/accounts. My main experience (both operationally and on the financial side) is in Hotels, Restaurants, Bars, Clubs etc.

    Anyhoo- finding it difficult to get clients on board- its a long while since I was on the management side of things, working in the office I dont really meet other hoteliers/publicans etc. So I dont really have a core of 'contacts' to call on for word of mouth etc.

    So I was hoping you guys on boards could help me. I was thinking of offering a consultancy service, free of charge, to anyone in need of an overhaul of their accounts/costs/operations, in the above mentioned industry. I am hoping that by providing a good service I may get some referrals for clients, or indeed some of the 'freebies' may turn into paid work.

    Just a few examples of what I could do:

    Analyse Food, Beverage & Wage Costs
    Analyse other costs (Stationery etc) and offer cost cutting plans
    Draw up Stocksheets, advise on inventory management etc
    Deal with a backlog of invoices/reports
    Credit Control & Reports
    Etc etc etc

    I recently approached a new business (restaurant) and ofered my services for free as above- they have now converted to a paying client and we are all happy.

    So- if you know any publicans, hoteliers, restrateurs, club owners etc that might be interested in speaking to me, please please PM me for my details. No obligation to offer me any paid work- just to get my name out there and known in the industry is my main aim.
